CEREAL KILLERS is Elisha’s first series to be released in 2024, an idea that had been brewing for 12 months.
These Pop Art inspired still life paintings are an extension on her already vibrant nostalgic works, with playful titles.
The iconic characters, referred to in the title of the work as “The Bubble Brothers” should definitely be on the most wanted list, these Brothers work for the Big Bad Bubbler and have all the other breakfast cereals shaking in their boots.
Elisha recalls, Christmas holidays as a child eating cereal from the variety pack camp boxes as a child, rice bubbles and coco pops.
Elisha again brings another mundane subject to life here as she captures a packet of Rice Bubbles against a striking background.
The work is vibrant and playful, though the artwork is unframed, the painting continues to the sides of the canvas, it is varnished and ready to display.
